Super Photosynthesis SS19/20

The inspiration for this collection comes from a new innovation in agricultural engineering. Super Photosynthesis refers to the optimisation of the function of plants, allowing them to absorb three times more sunlight and provide more of the oxygen all life thrives on. With this collaboration of nature and technology front of mind, we developed a collection promoting a harmony of natural form and expansive materials.

In a photo series by artist, Beth Moon, the oldest trees around the world are featured. Seemingly in direct contrast to the bionic plants of the now, what was interesting to us was what they have in common: the full expression of time – be it through the hastening of bio-

technology or simply the space and tranquility to grow. This concept resulted in an expansive aesthetic of far reaching silhouettes and uniquely developed jacquard fabrics, hand crafted in France.

Inspired by the natural landscape of the island of Ibiza - with its time weathered rocks and wind sculpted shores, we expressed the boast of nature through the use of feathers, pleats and shimmering sequins. The colour palette draws from the brightly accented hues around the seaside terrain. Super photosynthesis, the fashion collection, is our contemporary tribute to the intersection of freedom and discipline occurring in nature.
